"I honestly can’t remember the last time I went into a Starbucks and there wasn’t a pastor in there feeling good about himself because he was 'among the lost.' Nothing wrong with Starbucks and nothing wrong with hanging out there, but it does make me laugh that it is more filled with Christian workers than it is with disconnected people." - Gary Lamb
"Christians hang out at Starbucks…. disconnected people hang out in bars." -Chris Elrod
This must me why I prefer to pay four bucks for a pint of Guinness rather than a cup of coffee.

Once again you nailed it...
this is actually both funny and sad
and true
Actually I've been sitting on this one a bit and you know I love you bro but I have to dissagree on this one. I fiind "disconnected" people everywhere, starbucks, the local pub, the hospital waiting room and in line at the DMV. I agree with challenging Christ followers to step outside their comfortable hangouts but it's never safe to generalize about where the "disconnected" are... they're everywhere! After all..don't you guys hang out at the local bar? I do.
I'm sure your statement is true. But I have to claim ignorance on coffeehouses, because I'm not a coffee drinker.
Did I ever tell you that I love the way that that hurricane changed you the way that it did?
You are still an inspiration to me in that regard.
Mark Driscoll on coffee shops (Oct. 21, 2007):
“Seattle has unleashed this weird phenomenon on the world called: the coffee shop. And the coffee shop, thanks to Starbucks, is the place where socially isolated, lonely, needy people gather together to ignore one another.”
What's worst than the church hanging out in a Starbucks?
Bringin' the Starbucks into the church! Guinness is next bro.
huh. at the starbucks by my house you will be able, if you are so inclined, to get hooked up with the swinging lifestyle. you could also find your drug connection. i suppoe they COULD be Christ followers.
And I've never been there and been isolated. To the contrary-- we stopped going to that one because people wouldn't leave us alone. I know, we're bad at community outreach. But that was b4 we cared.
